After a year of hunting, we finally found a house that looked like just the place to raise our kids. Schools, hospitals, malls, the workplace, and everything you possibly need are just 15 minutes away, so we bought the place.

This is my favorite out of the lot. I wanted to put something up on the first-floor balcony, which overlooks the hills with trees. Our house is very close to nature. You are surrounded by hills and estates on 3 sides. You can walk through nature for hours. You can feel the oxygen around you. So, I wanted a Japanese-style home decor lounge to drink my coffee while seeing the trees swaying in the air. This table with chairs like padded stools that go under the table gives me the perfect seating and view. When someone looks in from the ground, they won’t be able to see us despite being on the open balcony because it’s lower to the floor. Also, the table is only as high as for my toddlers to play and draw on. They use this table more than we do. Above all, it is such a statement piece that gives the open balcony just the right alignment. It changes the complete outlook of that space.

As for the quality, there are occasions I stood on it and used it as a podium for a family performance. Kids can be rough also, as you know. No matter how many times they cut the clay on top of it, the table is always just a wipe away from looking afresh. The best part is not many have seen these kinds of coffee tables. You don’t walk by and give it a miss. It is definitely charming and worth all the money.

2. Sheeshamwallah Wooden Low Height King Size Bed Without Storage

So why the low-floor bed? There is a bit of nostalgia to it. When I was a child, I used to sleep on my mother’s bed like most Indian children. My mother had a TV in the room. She wanted a low-floor bed because when you have a TV in the room, the low-floor bed gives the impression that there is more space in the room. Also, if the kids roll over in their sleep and fall, they are not getting hurt by the small fall. It’s also refreshing for the eyes. This is not what people expect to see when they enter a room. It almost makes you wonder why beds should be elevated like they are. Are we saying we are too lazy to get up from a lower berth? This king-size bed was delivered in pieces. The house where the wife sleeps well is a happy house with a tastier breakfast. Often when we go for family trips, what we love about the hotels is the softness of the mattress. The complimentary breakfast will be over by 10, or else we will sleep on it till noon. I wanted a mattress like that where you have to force yourself to be awake. When you are on the wrong side of your 30s, your body demands this! This mattress I bought is everything that I wished for. After living so many years in a flat, why would I need a fourth bedroom? What do I do with the fourth bedroom? It will be used once in a blue moon when a guest stays over. 5. Home furniture Wooden Couch Diwan Sofa

An Indian house without a diwan cot is not complete. I had a second balcony that looked over the hills. You can only imagine what the sunset is like from there. This is where you lie down and watch the moon come over with its celestial charm. I wanted a Diwan cot to witness nature. I wanted a cushion to lie on, and when it rains, I want to take the cushion inside. These requirements led me to this purchase. If you want to discover some peace and succumb to laziness, then this is a must-have. It came as assembled parts. Took me 20 mins to set it up. My carpentry skills are as good as an 8-year-old’s.
